With the new year underway, it appears that Birdman is willing to start things off on the right note. After sparring with his former protege Lil Wayne over the release of Tha Carter V album, Birdman spoke about the elusive project with Travis Scott on the Missouri City rapper's Beats 1 radio show .wav.
"Carter V coming out," he said. "It’s definitely coming out. The situation with me and my son, bruh, I’ma put all of that behind us and just let it move forward."
"Wayne is one of the best artists ever to do the game, and I want to see him continue to do what he been doing, and I'm going to support whatever he's doing," he added.
Lil Wayne reportedly responded to Birdman’s claims that the world will hear Tha Carter V and he’s not a happy camper. According to TMZ, Weezy’s sources told the publication Birdman is “full of shit” for saying the much-anticipated album is “definitely coming out.”
Wayne has been more or less holding the masters of his C5 album hostage as he goes forward with his suit against Birdman, holding him accountable for unpaid royalties and damages for a total of $51 million. From what we've heard so far, no one will be hearing the album until some sort of agreement is reached (though evil pharma bro Martin Shkreli claims to have got his hands on an advance copy of the album recently).
